No. Many patients use medication temporarily to help establish momentum while building sustainable habits.
We actively support tapering or discontinuing medications once your goal weight is achieved and lifestyle changes are established.
Please note that if GLP-1 analogs are being used to treat a medical condition other than obesity (such as diabetes or liver disease), then you would have to stay on these medications long-term.
While our program is designed to help you taper off medications after your weight loss goals are achieved, it is not mandatory. You can convert your plan into a legacy membership and have continued access to single-dose prescriptions and follow up appointments.
No, we do not use compounded medications. All medications prescribed are FDA-approved and come directly from an authorized manufacturer.
Laboratory testing is required if you plan to start medication and every 3 months afterwards. It is important to have your electrolytes, blood sugar, kidney, liver and thyroid function checked to ensure the medication is safe. It can also give you insight on how your lifestyle efforts and medications are making an improvement to your health!
We partner with Quest Diagnostics® for laboratory work. The doctor will put in the order electronically and you can go to any Quest® laboratory and get your blood work done.
If you have health insurance, Quest® can submit a claim to your insurance company. If your insurance company does not contract with Quest® or you prefer to pay cash, we have contracted with Rupa Health® to offer discount pricing which starts at $36 for a full panel.
We are in the process of contracting with insurance companies. While we are currently cash-only, we can generate a superbill that many patients submit for reimbursement.
Absolutely! We can assist with prior authorizations if you choose to have your medications covered via insurance. Our service is unique in that our medical director personally oversees all prior authorizations - this has led to a 40% reduction in denials compared to our competitors. Our service does not guarantee approval of medications.
